Jean Marie Strickland England Thursday December 26th 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Marie Strickland, 81, of Lunenburg and formerly of Blue Rocks, announces her passing on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Steep Creek, Guysborough County, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Vivian (Parks) England.
Jean grew up in Guysborough County and moved to Blue Rocks where she worked at National Sea Products for many years and then owned and operated with her husband Stan, Strickland’s Taxi Business.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Marlene Smith, Lunenburg; son, Calvin Smith, Afton, grandchildren, Maxwell, Miranda and Jesse; great grandchildren, Mia and Sophia; sister, Ruth (Raymond) Morris, Eddy Point, Guysborough County; brothers, Warren (Carol) England, Clarke England both of St. Francis, Guysborough County; Donnie England, Dougie England and Ronald England all of Steep Creek, Guysborough County and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley, son, Philip and brother, Charles.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg where a memorial service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2020, Rev. Laura Marie Piotrowicz, officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Charity of your choice.
