Jean F. Trenholm
1936-2020
It is with heavy hearts that we share
with everyone the passing of our beautiful mom, Jean
Trenholm (nee
Turpin) of Port Elgin, and formerly of Timber River,
NB. With us at her side she left us Saturday morning after a brief
illness.
Family was everything to Mom. She loved
spending time with us and our families, and was forever concerned
about our happiness and safety.
Mom was born in Heatherton, Nova Scotia,
she moved to Timber River in 1961 and lived her entire married life in
the home she and Dad built together … and remodeled together too
many times to count! We believe it was their shared passion along with
the flowers, plants, bushes and gigantic maple tree found on their
property.
Mom worked at Cole’s Grocery Store
before taking on the challenge of delivering the mail for 25 years!
She was also a custodian at the Port Elgin post office during that
time. In her “retirement” she was a caregiver for the late
Leona LeBlanc whom Mom came to love with all of her heart. Mom was a
member of the St. Bartholomew’s church and became a recent member of
the Cape Tormentine Legion in memory and honour of her Dad who served
in WW11.
Our amazing, loving Mom leaves behind
her daughters, Darlene (Clifford) Smallwood, Joy (Shane) Banks and son
Michael (Janice Lake); four grandchildren, Derek (Rebecca), Natasha
(Nathan), Cally (Lukas) and Dylan; six great grandchildren, Brayden,
Donovan, Sophia, Lily, Finn and Rosa and three step great
grandchildren, Kamden, Hailey and Dax; two sisters, Shirley
MacPherson, Wilda Trenholm; a brother in law, Norman
Trenholm, and many beloved nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, Harold and Mary
Turpin, mom was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Garnet
Trenholm; two
brothers, Russell and Michael (Mickey); a brother in law Vincent
MacPherson; a grandson Dustin Smallwood and her special lifelong
friend, Elaine.
Special thanks to Dr. Stewart and all
the wonderful staff at Westford for taking such wonderful care of our
mom.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, Sackville
& Port Elgin, NB (506-364-1300). A private family
service will be held at the St. Clement’s Catholic Church Parish
Cemetery at a later date.
Donations may be made in Mom’s memory to
the Westford Nursing home or charity of
choice.
