Born in West River Station, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Fraser and Sadie MacKay. First and foremost, she was a Child of the King, Jesus Christ, whom she met as a teenage at the age of 16. She was the longest serving member of the Trenton Church of the Nazarene where she held positions of Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, Sunday School Secretary, Vice President of the Nazarene World Mission Society and the Board of Stewards for numerous years. Jean was a faithful supporter of Big Lake Nazarene Camp, where she and long-time friend Jessie Smith travelled each summer for many years. She was employed with the former Maritime Tel & Tel as a telephone operator and had worked as a cashier at Al Cameron’s Grocery store, Trenton. Prior to retirement in 1997, she was employed with Riverton Adult Residential Center, where much to her enjoyment she became the baker, after several years in the housekeeping and sewing departments. Following, she became a private caregiver to many seniors in the county. Jean enjoyed her weekly visits to the Maritime Odd Fellows Home, Pictou where she and her church friends sang with the residents. She was well known for baking biscuits, homemade bread and sweets. Jean enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting. She was a faithful prayer warrior. Jean leaves a legacy of love, faithfulness and courage, to her family and loved ones.
