1935-2020
HARCOURT, NB – J.D. McKenzie
“King” McGlinchey, 84, of Harcourt passed away
peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Miramichi Regional
Hospital on August 25th, 2020. Born in
Harcourt, he was the son of the late Daniel and Nora (McLean)
McGlinchey. King retired from the R.C.A.F. with the rank of Master
Corporal. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 75,
Harcourt. He was an avid moose hunter and an expert
fisherman.
King leaves to mourn his daughter,
Cara McGlinchey of Moncton; three sons, Allan (Lucy) of Moncton, Brian
(Darlene) of Moncton and Steven (Sherry) of Harcourt; as well as his
two grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
King is also survived by his brother,
Earl (Dorothy) of Harcourt; his special companion of many years,
Philomena Ward of Eel Ground and many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, King was
predeceased by his wife Jean Elizabeth; two sisters, Rita and Pauline
and two brothers, Sterling and Robert
(infant).
As per King’s wishes, there
will be no visitation at the funeral home or funeral service. An
interment on the Prairies will take place at a later
date.
The family would like to express
their sincere gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and staff at the
Miramichi Regional Hospital for their compassionate care of
King.
Arrangements are in the professional
care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto
(523-4252).
