Obituary
The Jerome family wish to announce the passing of Jayne “Jay” (née Gagné) Jerome at Rose Villa on December 20, 2020 at the age of 85 years.
Jay was born October 14, 1935 in Orillia, Ontario and grew up there. She moved out west and worked as a housekeeper for Dave and Joe Johnson in the Jerome School District. Jay had a great love of horses and heard that the Jerome brothers had horses. She went over to visit and as they say, the rest is history. Jay worked as a housekeeper for the Jerome brothers and soon after that, Denis started courting Jay. On January 19, 1980, they were married by Fr. Pat O’Driscoll in Rosetown. In 1982 Denis and Jay built a new home on the old Wood’s farm, a mile east of the Jerome farm. In 1998 when Denis retired, they moved to Rosetown. As time went on, Jay moved to Rose Villa until her passing.
Jay was predeceased by her husband Denis in 2005, brothers-in-law Louis Jerome, Joe (Thelma) Jerome and Fr. Ted Jerome and sister-in-law Elsie (Bernard) Hubert. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid -19 restrictions, there will be a family graveside service at a later date.
Donations in Jay’s memory may be made to Heartland Health Region (Rosetown & District Health Centre Long Term Care Centre), P.O. Box 653, Rosetown, SK S0L 2V0.
