Obituary
Janis I. Dudley passed away surrounded by her adult children on October 14, 2020 in Calgary. Janis was born in Cardston, Alberta on September 26, 1937. She grew up on a farm near Granum, Alberta with her siblings G. Bryce Dudley and half sisters Sandy Baird, and Holly Dudley. She was so fortunate to connect with her half brother Clyde Dudley, later in their lives.
Janis went off to Edmonton studied at the U of A to pursue her nursing degree. She became a Registered Nurse in 1958. She enjoyed a long career in the field and gained many life long friends from her school days and career. Health care and the study of the body & mind was always fascinating to Janis. After retirement she became a registered Massage therapist and studied various alternative healthcare disciplines. Later in her retirement Janis lovingly cared for her aging mother Gwen Litle until her passing.
Janis enjoyed reading and travel, photographing her many journeys. In her later years, Janis’ life centered around golf, line dancing and some quiet times with a good book, praying and studying the scriptures.
Janis is survived by all of her siblings as well as her children who supported her in her final weeks; Brenda Hill and her partner, Murray Mikulak of Calgary AB, Kevin Hill and his partner, Lorraine Wardrop of Chestermere and their daughter Kennedy Hill of Calgary, Bruce and wife Glenda Hill of Delta B.C, their son, Ryley Hill of Vancouver, their daughter, Madison Hill, her son, Janis’ great grandson Keenan Hill of Delta B.C., as well as Janis’ youngest son, Blair and wife, Marion Hill of Calgary.
Janis will be remembered as a curious, independent woman who loved a good read.
Private family services have been held for Janis.
