Navid, Janet “Jenny” (née Gosson) 1939 -2020
It is with gratitude for a beautiful life well-lived that the family of Jenny (Janet Gosson) Navid announce her passing, Monday August 10, 2020 in Sturgeon Falls.
Born in Cache Bay, on January 19, 1939 to Raymond and Mildred (Larocque) Gosson (predeceased), Jenny peacefully left this world to be in heaven with her beloved Lord and all of her loved ones who have gone before her.
Loving wife of the late Joseph Navid, beloved mother to Shirley (Kenji) Inamori, Kathy Genore (Paul Hamilton) and Joe Navid. Jenny’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were such a source of joy to her namely her grandchildren Ken (Shinae), Tom (Amanda), Laura (Alan), Naomi, Amy (Dawson), Cathleen (Mike), Erica, Aaron, Michael, Victoria (Micah) and her great grandchildren Ayame, Kenshiro, Taiyo, Ava, Addison, Brayden, Ella, Maya, Joshua and her many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Jenny grew up in a loving family and is predeceased by all of her siblings Charles Patrick, John Thomas, Raymond Coleman (Sonny), Anne Mary Racine (late Jean Paul), Patricia Sayer (Tom), Mike Gosson (Linda), and Susan Lloyd (Don) who were all there to greet her as she passed into heaven.
Born and raised in Cache Bay, Jenny met the love of her life while visiting family in Toronto and married, moved there, and raised her own family. Jenny loved being around and helping people and spent many years volunteering, creating many crafts, sewing, knitting and being involved with many church activities.
In her later years Jenny fulfilled her dream to travel to Ireland and connect with her Gosson family relatives there. They enjoyed her visits and were always welcomed when visiting Canada. She later moved home to her beloved Cache Bay, and spent as much time as she could at her camp at Clear Lake and was a strong member of the community. She will also be missed by her many friends in town and at the “Club 50.”
Huge family gatherings, especially the annual Thanksgivings dinners at her camp at Clear Lake were a major family event and many cherished memories were made there with her.
Jenny lived her life fully and never gave up despite the many health challenges that were sent her way. She was a true example of courage and strength. Her loving spirit was sometimes exemplified by a flying object or by her direct approach with strong opinions. You always knew where she stood on a subject!
Her greatest accomplishments and her legacy were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loved her family to the ends of the earth.
Jenny’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses at West Nipissing General Hospital and Health Sciences North (4 South) for the exceptional care and compassion Mom received.
A mass of christian burial will take place Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Ste. Therese d’Avila in Cache Bay.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Nipissing Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
