Jane Elliot Larsen
April 18, 1921 – February 29, 2020
Jane was an exceptional woman. She was born in 1921 to Lindsay and Jean Elliot of Montreal. Predeceased by her parents, her brother Donald and her husband Carl. Survived by her daughter and son in law, Janet and Paul Bratberg of Picton, ON and by her grandchildren Jason (Francois), Ian (Amy) and Sarah (Steve) as well as by 4 great grandchildren. Special heartfelt thanks to her extended family at Westgate Lodge in Belleviile, ON.
Jane attended The Trafalgar School for Girls and then received a BSc from McGill University. The Montreal West tennis courts, the Montreal Badminton & Squash Club and the Royal Montreal Golf Club were some of her favorite places.
From 1943 to 1945 Jane lived and worked at the Defense Industries Limited (D.I.L.) Nitro plant in Valleyfield QC, as a bomb girl. She later worked as a quality control specialist for Atwater Bag in Montreal where she met and married Edwin Charles (Carl) Larsen, who worked as a commercial artist.
Jane and Carl enjoyed fishing, skiing and other outdoor activities. It was during their honeymoon at Grey Rocks (Mont Tremblant QC) that Jane introduced her new husband to golf.
After marrying in 1956, Jane began a new career as a wife and mother. She could always be found in her Brookhaven Ave garden. Peace roses and peonies were among her favorites.
Interment will take place at Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal following a family service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to your charity of choice would be appreciated.
