Died peacefully on Monday December 21, 2020 at his home at the age of 89. John of Stayner, formerly of Angus, beloved husband for over 60 years of Judigje (Judie). Loving father of Baukje (Dale Sweeney), Otto (Gabe), Wil (Lara Coombs), Ken (Donna) and John Jr (Peggy) . Cherished Pake of Melissa (Rob Bland), Brooks (Whitney), Tanner, Brittany (Mike Madeley), Mac (Alisha), Nicole (Shawn Stewart), Kristin (Henry Barton), Kody, Dalton, Jenna, Alicia (Duane Henry), Adam (Jessica Beveridge), Hayley (Adam Haywood), Zackery (Olivia Tellez) and Madyson and Great Pake to Kaelan, Ryelynn, Rhegan, Ryker, Olivia, Rosalyn, Quinn, Jaxon, Stella, Zoe, Jack, Thomas, Lauren, Erika and Brookelyn. Jan is survived by siblings Henry (Tina), Boukje (the late Jan) and Sjoukje (Jan) and Truss( the late Douwe), predeceased by siblings Klaas (Wil), Otto, Hiltje (Jan), Geertje (Eelke), Ybeltje (Cor), Maaike (Bartle) Jantje (Melle) and Sjoukje. Jan was an Omke to many nieces, nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Jan was a kind man who had a wonderfully sarcastic sense of humour. He loved his garden and was a spectator of all sports from golf to professional wrestling. He will be deeply missed. Private arrangements with the hopes of a Celebration of Life at a later date.
