Obituary of JAMES ROBERT LEFLER
LEFLER, James Robert – at the age of 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Waterford with his family by his side. Loving husband of Marilyn (Kew). Devoted and dedicated father of Jeff (Jen), Michael (Renee) and David (Danielle). Doting Grandfather of Ellie, Jakob, Willem and McKinley, Mackenzie, Maverick and Annabelle, Georgia, James. Jim is pre-deceased by his parents Walter and Dorothy and is the younger brother of Bruce (Anna) and Karen Casey (Frank). Brother in Law to the late Jo-Anne Torti, the late John Kew (Debbie), Mike Kew (Marilyn), and Jim Kew (Marianne). Nephew of Morley (Ruth) Lefler. Jim was a proud Uncle of 17 and Great Uncle of 18. Jim enjoyed and fulfilled his role as a stay at home dad. He was undeniably dedicated to his 3 boys. From 2005 on, Jim was rewarded and received much joy from each grandchild that arrived. Over the years, his interest and talents in woodworking flourished. He enjoyed designing and building countless projects for those he loved. Everything from a small wooden play set for his grand-daughter’s barbies, to a complete home renovation. He always took the time to do things the right way, every time. All who knew him can attest to his talent and willingness to help. Jim always pushed through with a positive attitude in life, no matter the adversity. “It could always be worse” would often be heard coming from his mouth. Jim was taken from us far too soon. He will always be lovingly remembered as a kind and patient man. Jim will be resting at his family home. In casual attire, friends and family are welcome to attend the Lefler family home on Sunday August 30 from 1-5PM. Following Covid-19 guidelines visitation will be by appointment only which can be made by calling THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford at 519-443-5332 or through our web-site www.thompsonmottfuneralhome.com Visits in the home will be brief, masks and distancing are required. There will be a private family service the following day, with interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Simcoe. In Lieu of flowers, the family would strongly prefer donations be made to the Princess Margaret Brain Cancer Research Fund, the London University Hospital Cardiac Arrhythmia Program or charity of your choice. In memory of Jim, a scholarship will be established for local high school graduates with aspirations of becoming a medical Doctor with a desire to specialize in cardiology or oncology. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, 519-443-5332.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of JAMES
