Obituary of James Douglas Hanna
Peacefully, at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury, on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, James Douglas “Jim” Hanna, of Wardsville, formerly of Kitchener, passed away at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Eileen (née Hartwick) for 61 years. Dear father of Jane (Don) Rumgig of St. Jacobs, Dennis Hanna of Cambridge, Randy Hanna of Wardsville and Doug (Jeanette) Hanna of Kitchener. Cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Jim is survived by his brother Herb (Rosaline) Hanna of Waterloo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers; Bob (late Ida) Hanna, Bill (Maxine) Hanna and Chuck Hanna and sisters; Helen (late Ed) Lusch and Alice (late Stuart) Steadman.
Jim was born on August 7, 1934 in Kitchener, Ontario. He was the son of the late Robert Hanna and Helen (née Gardiner). Following a career in furniture manufacturing for La-Z-Boy, Jim and Eileen retired to the Lakewood Trailer Park in Port Glasgow. Jim and Eileen were dedicated members of Iona Christian Fellowship.
