James in his 83rd year, passed away at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus on August 27, 2020. Beloved husband of Carol (Thornton) for 44 years. Loving father of Erin Duncan (Luc Turgeon) of Ottawa, Ontario. Special Grandpa to Rosa and Arlo. Dear son of the late Eliza Moore and Alfred Duncan. Dear brother of Fred (Dale and the late Carol), brother-in-law of Eric Wilson (late Irene) of Ottawa, Ontario and predeceased by Nora Grant (Nelson) of London, Ontario, George Duncan (Dolly) of Lachine, Quebec, Doug Duncan of Lachine, Quebec and Helen Wood (Stirling) of Toronto, Ontario. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Lachine, Quebec, Jim worked at Air Canada for 31 years in both Dorval, Quebec and Ottawa, Ontario. His favourite pastimes were golf and spending time with family and friends. After moving to the Kemptville, Ontario area he joined the Prescott Golf Club, was a member of the Board and enjoyed organizing golf events. He was a loyal Montreal Canadiens hockey fan and avid sports enthusiast. He will be greatly missed. Due to Covid-19 the family has decided to postpone any services at this time. A special thanks to the Ottawa Hospital caregiving staff for the wonderful care given to Jim during his short time in ICU and to his doctors John Evans and Patrick Leahy. Donations to Parkinson Canada are gratefully accepted.
