James’ Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Monday, December 14, 2020 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, James Robert Mackey age 98 years of Trinity.
Predeceased by parents; Andrew and Greta Mackey, wife; Anne, son; Andrew, daughter; Connie Fitzpatrick, brother; George (Rowena), sisters; Hazel (Milos Basek), Marjorie (George Everett), nieces; Paula Mackey and Angela Starrett.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughter; Marjorie (Earl Horlick) of Trinity, grandsons; Andrew Fitzpatrick (Missy), Gordon Fitzpatrick, great grandchildren; Candance, Gabriel, Dimitri and Benji, nieces; Terri Bonard, Andrea Khan, April James, Sharon Simms, Heather Divers, Kathy Davenport, Jill Fowler, nephews; Rick, Bob and Murray Everett, Richard Bonard, Andrew Basek, James Mackey, Angela Starrett’s children; Dylan, Emily, Michaela and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.
Donations may be made in his memory to The Salvation Army of NL.
James Robert Mackey was born on May 24, 1922 at Dalhousie, New Brunswick, attended U.N.B, worked at K.V.P, Northern ON. He moved to NL in 1963, in 1970 he moved to Lindsey, ON and taught at SSFC until he retired.
In keeping with his wishes, Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will take place at Plaster Rock Cemetery, New Brunswick at a later date.
