Lachlan “JL” – of Kewstoke, age 54.
Passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in the Victoria County Memorial
Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Baddeck on February 10, 1966, he
was a son of Douglas and Cassie (MacDonald) MacRitchie.
JL worked at the Little Narrows Gypsum for 32 years and then
for Cape Breton Concrete Army. JL was a member of the Whycocomagh
Volunteer Fire Department for 12 years and he was a member of St.
Columba Roman Catholic Church, Iona.
Besides his parents JL is survived by his wife, Marguerite
(MacPherson), daughter, April, at home; son, Jordan, at home; sisters,
Estelle (Don) Currie, Mississauga, Ont.; Darlene (Todd) Laffin, Lantz;
niece, Keilidh Laffin, and nephews, Mitchell Currie and Devon Laffin.
JL was predeceased by his brother, George S.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8 from
2-8 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. A
graveside service will be held at a later date in Stewartdale
Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of JL to Whycocomagh
Volunteer Fire Department or to Hospice Society of Victoria
County.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of
Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Words of
