James Adamson June 16th 1929 October 17th 2020

It is with heavy heart and deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Rodger Adamson who peacefully succumbed after a short illness on Oct 17, 2020. He was born June 16, 1929 in Vancouver and is predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and William Adamson. James was a beloved father, brother and son to his family. He is survived by his son James (Lucy), his daughter Janet, grandson Austin, nephew Robert and brother Bill. He is also survived by his companion Kathleen and the Matheson family who loved him dearly.
An original partner in Imperial Paving Limited, he spent 60 years at the heart of the BC roadbuilding industry developing relationships throughout. He was blessed to have quality partners, and employees that he felt were second to none.
James had many interests including travelling, reading and lifelong learning. He was particularly passionate about art and seeing nature through the eyes of the artist. James was a lifelong member and enthusiastic supporter of the Shriners. He was also a member of Point Grey Golf and Country Club.
James will be sorely missed by our who had the privilege to know him. He was a man of honor and integrity. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Torchy Steward Adamson Memorial Scholarship in Nursing (University of British Columbia) that was established by James for his dear wife Grace Adamson who passed away in 1992.
