Obituary of Jacqui Barker
Jacqui passed away peacefully in her home on May 31st 2020 at the age of 58. She was predeceased by her father Tony and mother Christine (Emerson). She had recently retired from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation after 30+ years.
She was a kind, gentle person whose compassionate nature led her to become involved in various charitable causes for both people and animals. She sponsored several children in developing countries and supported the continued education of two young women pursuing spiritual studies in exile through the Tibetan Nuns Project. Likewise, she was an advocate for animal adoptions, rescuing a number of cats in need over the years.
Jacqui also found joy in her creative pursuits. She enjoyed hand-crafting original polymer clay jewellery, hand-weaving fabrics, and working on various knitted pieces for others. She was an avid reader and creative writer. Most of all, she was a dear friend who will be deeply missed.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. She will be interred in her family plot at Christ Church Cemetery in Kingston at a later date.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jacqui Barker 2020..
