Obituary
Jackie was born in Owen Sound on January 14, 1923, a daughter of the late Les and Vera Armstrong. Jackie passed away in Southampton on November 7, 2020 at the age 97.
She is remembered as the loving mother of Denise (Dave) Cheer, Shelli (Bill) LaFlamme and Michele (Joe) D’Angelo. Grandma to Deanne (Kevin) and Dana (Brad) Cheer, Tracy (Claude) Stonehouse and Michael (Victoria) D’Angelo; great grandma to Heather (Martin) Sobota, Zac Lofeudo, and Ari Lever; and great great grandma to Markus Sobota. Dear sister to Marsha Thompson and sister-in-law to Adele Armstrong. She will be remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Jackie was a talented singer, accomplished sewer, knitter, a lover of music, animals and birds, gardening and sunsets with wine. Her dedication to family and friends was her most important life role. She will be dearly missed.
The family would like to offer a sincere thank you to the staff at the Southampton Care Centre for their care and compassion in her final days.
A private family celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at the Tannahill Funeral Home, 1178 4th Ave West, Owen Sound, 519-376-3710 on Sunday, November 22 ,2020 at 11:00am. Family and friends wishing to view Jackie’s service may do so on facebook @BrownFamilyFH or in the service details below.
Memorial donations to the Grey Bruce Alzheimer Society in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated by the family.
