Jacqueline Marie Smith of Moncton, NB
passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, September
01, 2020 at the age of 68. Born in Perth-Andover, NB she was a
daughter of the late Roy and Elinor (Hudson) Pirie.
At 36, Jackie was accepted to the Arts program at
UNB, where she earned a double honours degree in Anthropology and
Sociology. She worked as a cook in Honey and Spice in Petitcodiac, and
as a worker and eventually assistant manager at the Coffee Shop at the
Moncton City Hospital. She is remembered fondly by the
hospital staff for her professionalism, but mostly for her warm
smile.
Survived by her husband of 44 years, Millage Smith;
daughters, Amy-Jo Hitchcock (Charles) of Rowena, NB, Natalie Marie
Michaud (Sam) of Arthurette, NB, Charmarine Smith (Don Rioux) of Cap
Pele, NB; sisters, Nancy Dyer (Ralph) of Sus, Sharon Giljam (Dan)
of Mariland; brother, Danny Pirie (Paula) of Perth-Andover; 5
grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by
her sisters, Patricia and Lois and brother, Richard.
In honor of Jacqueline there will not be any
visitation. A memorial service will be held at the First
Church of Nazarene on 21 Fieldcrest Drive on Friday, Sept 4,
2020 at 2:00pm.
Interment will be in Perth-Andover at a later
date.
Donations in Jacqueline’s memory made to the
Diabetic Association or to the Canadian Liver Foundation would be
appreciated by the family.
