Jacob Kryger 19292020

Jacob Kryger
1929-2020
KRYGER, Jacob
Cornelis
Passed away at the Guelph General
Hospital on Nov 23/20 at the age of 91. He was born to parents Jacob
and Neeltje Krijger on July 7, 1929, in Rotterdam (Overschie),
Netherlands. After WWII he made the difficult decision to leave his
home for a new life in Canada, travelling on the Kota Inten boat in
1948.
He was blessed to meet and marry
Marj, the love of his life, in 1955. She predeceased him in 2018 after
63 years together. Jake was the loving father of Paul Kryger (Adriana)
of Huntsville and Linda Beath (Gord) of Guelph. He was the proud Opa
of Brandon Kryger (Michele), Shannon Scott (Andrew), Samantha Lane
(Tyler) and Lindsay Beath (Jonny). Great Opa to Jayden, Jacob,
Lincoln, Gemma, Denver and Troy. Dear brother of Neeltje de Sterke and
predeceased by his brothers Nico Krijger, Arie Krijger and
brother-in-law Chuck Argent.
He was a long-time employee of
Steele’s Wire Springs in Guelph and retired almost 27 years
ago. Jake was known for his love of billiards and cards and will be
missed by so many partners and competitors.
The family would like to take this
opportunity to thank the PSWs, Nursing staff and administrators at
Riverside Glen Retirement Home where Jake resided as well as all the
amazing nurses on 4West who gently cared for him in his last
hours.
A private family service will be held with cremation to
follow. If desired, memorial contributions to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
