John “Jack” William Skinner, age 92, of Stratford, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Stratford General Hospital. Born in St. Marys, son of the late Russell & Isobella (Cruikshank) Skinner. True love and best friend of 67 years Gladys (Hartung) Skinner. Proud father of Vicki (Patrick) Schlattman, Scott (Deborah) Skinner, Greg (Paula) Skinner. Much loved Grandfather to Courtney (Will), Kim (Chris), Rachel (Andrew), Amy (Lance), Hannah, Jodi, Oliver, Josh (Morgan), Sophie (Hayden), Taylor and his great Grand children Nolan, Ella, Ethan and Addison. Jack was a retired upholstery foreman with Kroehler Furniture retiring in 1990. He was Pipe Major with the Perth Regiment Piper Band from 1946-1971. His biggest enjoyment was time spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jack will be fondly remembered by his siblings Thelma (Harold) Gelinas and Norman Skinner along with his sisters-in-law Marjorie Skinner, Judy Skinner, Marge Skinner, Rose Marie Hartung and Darlene Plummer. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by brothers Vernon, Bob, Bruce, Harold (Florence) and sisters Marlene (Don) Coughlan, Laura Lewis and a sister -in -law Theresa Skinner. Visitation at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, July 31 from 1-2 p.m. , a private family service will take place at 2:15 p.m. (masks required as well as social distancing while on funeral home property). As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Knox Presbyterian Church (Stratford) through the W. G.
