It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ivan C. Percy, peacefully with family at his side at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, Kanata on Sunday, May 24, 2020. Ivan was born August 15, 1926 in New Liskard, ON to the late William F. and Emeline N. Percy, he was a World War II veteran and met and married Ariel E. (nee McKenzie) Percy in 1945. He then entered and graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in electrical engineering working as a consultant for many years. In 1974 Ivan and his family settled in Ottawa where he worked for the Auditor General’s Office. He is predeceased by his wife Ariel E. (nee McKenzie) Percy, and son-in-law Joe Genovy. Survived by his son Stephen Percy (Tracy), daughter Stephanie Genovy, granddaughter Selena (Genovy) Mortensen (Ryan Mortensen) and grandsons Liam and Callum Percy. He will also be missed by many friends; Joan, Debbie, Liz and Art, Peter and Elaine Connolly, Brad and Tish and pub friends from the Cheshire Cat and Ashton Pub, Peter, Bill, Dave and Terry, Richard and the late Dr. Andrew Mackie.
A family funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 followed by interment at Huntley Presbyterian Cemetery. Those wishing may make donations to the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
