Obituary of Irma Aliise Fischl
Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Perth District Hospital on Friday May 22, 2020. Irma Fischl (nee Penson) born August 10th, 1936. Predeceased by her beloved husband Alfred Fischl just 6 weeks earlier, Irma has gone to be with him and all of their pets. Cherished mother of Garry Fischl (Gay MacQuarrie) and Peter Fischl (Carolyn). Predeceased by her parents Waino and Elna Penson (nee Wachlan) of Ivy Lea, Ontario. Irma will be greatly missed by her Grandchildren Carson and Cameron Fischl, Ashley Fiegen (James), and Brittany Johnson (Baillie) and Great Grandchildren Raymond, Jayde, Paytyn, and Jaxxon.
Irma graduated from Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children as a Registered Nurse in 1958. She had fond memories of growing up in Ivy Lea in the 1950’s with her cousins, Sandra and John. She was a wonderful mother, ferrying Garry and Peter to hockey, piano lessons, baseball, swim team, after school skating every day in the Winters and swimming every day in the Summers. She took a keen interest in her sons’ families and was always supportive in all their interests and hobbies. She had a love of animals and gave generously to the SPCA. Irma would daily walk her dogs in the neighborhood and she doted over every dog she met.
Family and friends are invited to Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street, East, Brockville on Saturday August 8th, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Due to the COVID restrictions, please call the funeral home at 613-342-2792 if you would like to attend the visitation as there is a limit to how many people can be in the building at a time.
