Peacefully, on Saturday, February 15, 2020, in her one hundred and third year. Beloved wife of the late Alexander. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Randa and Marvin Wexler. Adoring grandmother of Robert and Jennifer Wexler of Los Angeles, Michael and Tatyana Wexler of Los Angeles. Very proud “G.G.” of Alexandra, Scarlett, Vera, Elizabeth, Liliana, and Alexander. Predeceased by siblings and their spouses, Hannah and Isidore Greenstein, Joseph Bernard Horne, Esther and Harold Harris, Gwen and Lew Perzow and Myer Hersh; and by Alexander’s siblings and their spouses, Gerry and Bill Greenstone, Harry and Eva Klein, Morris and Vera Klein, Hymie Klein and Shirlée Klein Carsh, Sammy and Goldie Klein, and Marilyn Klein. Irene will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Waldorf Residence. Special thanks to Irene’s caregivers for their love and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Beth Aaron Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at her daughter’s home, Tuesday following burial until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Evening services at 7:30 p.m. Contributions in Irene’s memory may be made to the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors, (514) 734-1825.
