Irene Helena Miller Wisotzki November 11 2020

Irene Helene Miller (nee Wisotzki) passed away peacefully at Marianhill nursing home on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Delmer “Bud” Miller for 62 years. Loving mother of Diane (Philip) Eastwood, Gail (Shawn) Calver, and Christel (Doug) Littau. Caring grandmother of Meredith Buckley, Coulter Eastwood, Stephanie Calver Gilchrist, Drew Calver, Brianna Littau, Tyson Littau and her great grandchildren Dylan, Lydia, Max, William, Lucy, and Charlie. Lovingly remembered by her brother Harry Huff (Hilli) “just because”. Predeceased by her brother Wally Wisotzki.
Irene was an exceptional gardener both at home and for downtown Eganville as part of the Horticultural Society. She was a businesswoman in the ‘70s opening a retail clothing store called the “Cactus Flower”. Irene spoke seven languages, and as a German immigrant she learned English as well. She was empathetic to others and volunteered to teach adults English in the Pembroke Alternative School. She was proud of the success of her students and showed compassion and concern for those in need.
Words cannot express our gratitude for the staff on 2D at Marianhill for the kindness and care shown to both Mom and Dad over the years – they were truly “family”.
Irene’s final care has been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville. There will be a private family graveside service at Grace Lutheran Cemetery. In memory of Irene, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Mental Health Association Ontario Division. Tributes, condolences, and donations can be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com.
