Irene Fanning (née Morin).
Well mom, it has been quite the adventure.
It started in Montreal on April 15, 1926 – 94 years ago, and it ended on a very special day in her life, the anniversary of the day she married our dad, November 22.
We can picture dad coming to mom and inviting her to join him in their forever eternal home.
Mom spent her early years in Sudbury with her 2 brothers, Andy and Joe. They moved to California for a couple of years and then up to Vancouver in the early 40’s. She met the love of her life, that dashing, and handsome Irishman – Larry Fanning after high school. They married in 1947 and started their family the next year.
For the next 13 years they brought 8 wonderful children into the world, Michael, Laura, Steve, Ruby Marie, Pat, Terry, Colleen and Tim.
Unfortunately, mom was predeceased by her husband in 2006, as well as her children Steve and Colleen.
Mom (and dad) was a practising Catholic who called OLPH her church home.
Mom spent a lot of her married life raising 8 children, as our dad was a travelling salesman for most of his working life. She also volunteered at school and church, played and hosted bridge, volunteered at the Metro Theatre, did dad’s business correspondence, ran the house, banking, etc – she was one high energy mom.
Besides her 6 remaining children, she leaves 17 grands and 16 great grands (soon to be 17).
Thanks mom and enjoy your richly deserved rest.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Irene Fanning Apr 15 1926 Nov 22 2020..

I have great memories of fun times spent in the Fanning household. “Irene”o retained her sense of humour even while looking after that gang of eight. She included me as a “ regular” on 13th. Glad you are with Larry, Steve, and Colleen again, Mrs. Fanning. Godspeed.
