Ioannis (John) Xenos

Passed away peacefully in Lasalle on April 14, 2020 at the age of 87. Survived by his devoted wife of 52 years Anastasia (nee Kefallinos), and sons Demetrios (Zoё) and George (Angela). Loving grandfather to Sofia, Alexa, Michael, John and Andrew. Predeceased by his sister Kaliopi and brother Dionysios. Dad will be dearly missed by his family and friends in both Canada and Greece.
Dad was born and raised in the mountain village of Louha on the island of Zakynthos, Greece. He immigrated to Canada in 1960 and soon made his way as a successful entrepreneur (Kosta’s and Rolland in Verdun and later Centrale Pizzeria in Lasalle). In January of 1968, he married Anastasia, who was also born and raised in Zakynthos. Dad was a hard-working man of integrity who always put his family first while still taking time to enjoy pursuits (he loved nature, was an avid hunter and enjoyed driving). He was also an active member of both the Zakynthian Association and the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal. Dad retired in 1998 and he and Mom were able to see their sons get married and start families of their own.
Due to circumstances beyond the family’s control, a church service (mnimosino) will be held at a later date once social distancing requirements have been lifted.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any in memoriam donations be made to St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church (7707 Boulevard LaSalle, LaSalle, QC H8P 1Y5).
