HUGHES Marilyn Frances 2020

Hughes, Marilyn Frances (Marilyn Mercer) passed away at Huntsville Hospital with family by her side, on Monday August 10th, 2020 in her 78th year.
Marilyn Hughes (Mercer), daughter of Marion Hares (Smith) and Frank Mercer, who was a volunteer fire fighter and died in Hurricane Hazel in 1954.
Marilyn was beloved wife of late Douglas Hughes, and mother to Kim (Cary Howe) and Terri (John Little). Also grandmother to Tori Howe, Riley, Taylor, Brandon and Ben Little.
Marilyn was born in Toronto, and spent summers in Port Sydney working at Broadview Lodge, owned by her parents. It was there that she met her true love, and moved to Port Sydney permanently, married for 47 years.
Marilyn loved and supported the Port Sydney community, involved with such things as the Hill and Gully Riders Snowmobile Club, and the Annual Port Sydney Turkey Dinners. She loved going to the trailer with dear friends, gardening, boating and in later years volunteered her time as a senior’s driver, where she continued to make close friends.
She will be remembered as a strong, funny, caring woman, and the Port Sydney community has truly lost one of their finest….
We will Love You Always & Forever ❤
As per Marilyn’s wishes, there will be no service.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of HUGHES Marilyn Frances 2020..
