Obituary for Howie Whitton
Died peacefully with family by his side after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia. JOHN HOWARD “Howie” WHITTON, 83 years, was of Petrolia. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years Betty (nee Grant), his children Mike and Karen Whitton and Chris and John Bryans, his grandchildren Taylor Whitton, Alyssa (Nick) Rolin, Quintin Vosper, Avery Vosper, Jeff Bryans, and Carly (Bryan) Oke. He will also be missed by his brother David (Pat) Whitton and his nieces and nephews Al (Lois) Metcalfe, Erin Whitton, Rae (Dan) Madge, Amy (Ryan) Robertson, Julie (Ryan) May, and Scott (Katie) Metcalfe. He was predeceased by his parents John “Howard” and Beatrice Whitton, his sister Barb (the late Bruce) Metcalfe and nephews Greg Metcalfe, Randy Metcalfe, and Kevin Metcalfe. Howie was a 40 year employee of Polysar. In the community he was a long time executive member of the Petrolia Jets Hockey Club, and enjoyed spending winters in Florida in his retirement. A private service will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to C.E.E.
