Obituary of Herman Woldhuis
WOLDHUIS, Herman
After a short illness, Herman Woldhuis, in his 94th year, passed away on December 15, 2020 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton. Predeceased by his wife, Emily (2017). He will be deeply missed by his children Frances (Stuart), Bill (Monica), Johanna (Mike) and Alma (Mark – deceased) and his many grandchildren and great -grandchildren. Herman, Emily and their young family sailed on the Victory ship the Groote Beer from Holland to Canada in 1956. They settled in the Bronte/Oakville area and added two more children to their family. Herman had a long career as a diesel mechanic where his affable nature made him many friends. He and Emily enjoyed many long road trips in their retirement. Going around the Great Lakes and through New England to Cape Cod were two of their favourites. The family would like to thank the staff at the General’s 7-South and St Peter’s 3 West for taking such compassionate care of our Father in his last days.” Cremation has taken place. Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Herman
