Herbert Walter Vincent passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at Western Memorial
Regional Hospital on Monday, November 9, 2020 at the age of 92.
Herbert was born to Baxter and Elfreda Vincent at Newtown, Bonavista Bay on April 29, 1928.
Left to mourn with loving memories of his life are his wife Linda, of 67 years; son Ron (Joyce); three
daughters, Wanda (Clarence) Buckle, Elaine (Jerry) O’Keefe, Sherry (Derek) Holwell; 5 grandsons,
Travis (Melanie) Vincent, Tyrone (Marigold) Buckle, Trent (Denise) Vincent, Scott (Allyssa) Buckle,
Jeffrey (Natasha) Holwell; 2 granddaughters, Krista (Corey) Codner, Holly (Randy Bussey)
Christopher; 10 great-grandchildren, Jesse Buckle, Brody Buckle, Rylee Vincent, Xavier Buckle,
Lucas Buckle, Liam Vincent, Elise Vincent, Kaiden Christopher, Dominic Holwell and Jase Holwell;
2 brothers, Carl and Clyde (Norma), as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends. Herbert is predeceased by his parents Baxter and Elfreda Vincent; 2 brothers, Walter
and George (Ida) Vincent; sister, Emma Vincent and sister-in-law June Vincent.
A private family visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. A private
family funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, 36 Clarence Street, on Tuesday,
November 24 with Captains Darren and Danette Woods officiating. Interment to follow at Mount
Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Salvation Army
Citadel, 36 Clarence Street, Corner Brook.
