Hennig Vernon Carl October 19 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Vernon Carl Hennig on October 19, 2020, after a courageous battle with kidney disease.
Vernon is survived and will be missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothea; daughters: Karla Hennig and Rhonda (Jim) Brewer; grandchildren: Zachary, Erin (Remy Pankiw) and Lacey; sister, Brenda (Gerald) Laird; many cherished friends, extended family and acquaintances.
Vernon, together with his wife, Dorothy, lived and farmed near Bruderheim for 48 years. He enriched many lives during his 32 years as a school bus driver for Strathcona County, as a volunteer with the Bruderheim Lions Club and as a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He loved to talk with people whether and an old friend or someone he had just met. His love of people was only surpassed by his love of animals.
His kindness and generosity of spirit will be missed by all those who knew him.
The family wishes to thank everyone who cared for Vern throughout the years, specifically the staff at the Aberhart Centre, University of Alberta Hemodialysis Department, Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital and more recently AHS Home Care and Home Instead.
Due to current restrictions, a private celebration will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 2:00 pm. The family invites you to join them online at 2:00 p.m. by following the link on distantlink.com/SerenityES.html
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or the charity of your choice.
