Obituary for
Helen Romanchuk
“I’ve lived a good life”….It is with such gratitude, sadness and love that we announce the passing of Helen Romanchuk on December 9, 2020 at the age of 88 years.
We are grateful that her wisdom, strength, kindness and thoughtfulness will always be with us. Even as we are saddened at the loss. She had told us many times “I have lived a good life.”
That life started on a farm near Spedden, Alberta where she was born and raised. She always felt herself to be a country girl. When she married she moved to Bruderheim, Alberta, where she and Bill raised their family and where she lived most of her life. She was a teacher for many years and loved her many students, profession and community. She was a good listener and a good friend.
She loved and was loved by her family and will be dearly missed by her daughter, Kathy (Ken) Goble; son, Robert (Edie) Romanchuk; grandsons. Ben (Nikki) Goble, Brad (Katherine) Goble and Adam (Sandra) Goble; and eight beloved great-grandchildren; her sister, Ollie Pedwerbeski; her brother, Orest (Marlene) Krokoh; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bill; brothers, Dymtro and Peter Krokosh; and brother-in-law, Nick Pedwerbeski.
Loving thanks to the amazing staff at Wedman House for their care and support of Mom in the past few years.
A private family service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Christmas Bureau at www.christmasbureau.ca.
