EVANOFF, Helen
On Monday April 27, 2020, Helen (Bryzinski) Evanoff peacefully passed away at Extendicare, Timmins. The family is grateful that she was given the Last Rites by Monsignor Pat Lafleur of Saint Anthony Padua Cathedral Parish, She was born on February 13, 1922 in Timmins, Ontario to Anna Homolovich and Julian Bryzinski. She was of Polish-Ukrainian descent. Helen was predeceased by one brother, Joseph, and a sister, Olga Lupien, of Toronto.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, John Evanoff (Stanchev) who was a goldminer at the Buffalo Achorite Mine and helped to clear the land where several main streets are now found in Timmins. Helen was also predeceased by her two first born babies, Frederick and Josephine, her son Nicholas, daughter Victoria, sons-in-law, Claire Imber and Larry Haliday as well as three grandchildren, Mark Imber, Anthony Sandrelli and a nephew, William Russell.
Helen leaves behind, 3 daughters, Anne, Evonna, Juliana and a son, Victor and his wife, Elley. She had 9 grandchildren, Kim Imber, Clarke Mathis, Alex Chartrand, Lisa Chiera, Donna, Charlene, Sandy, and Anthony Sandrelli, and 23 great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Helen Evanoff will be held at later date through Miron-Wilson Funeral Home and interment will be at The Timmins Memorial Cemetery.
