Obituary of Helen Charlton
Peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, at Summit Place in Owen Sound on Wednesday September 2, 2020. Helen Elsie Charlton (nee Flood), of Owen Sound, at the age of 81 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Dougal Charlton (2019) for 60 years. Loving mother of Dave Charlton (Gillian), Allan Charlton (Debbie), Lynda McDougall (Geoff Ford), Scott Charlton (Elizabeth), all of Owen Sound, Doug Charlton (Shelley), of Strathroy, Barb Snider (Mike Martell), of Brighton and Leanne Charlton (Tim Zuchora), of Durham. Proud grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Karen Wilson of Fordwich, and sister in law of Alice McCurdy of Owen Sound. Predeceased by her: parents David and Elizabeth (nee Day) Flood; siblings Leonard Flood, Lillian Weaver, Marv Flood, Clarence Flood, Doris Breen, Eunice Nicholson, Hilda Muir, Lloyd Flood and Elda Fenn; brother in law Harold Charlton.
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street, West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, 50 people will be allowed in the building at any given time, and visitors are asked to wear a mask and follow physical distancing rules. A private Funeral Service will follow, with Rev. Kristal McGee officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind as an expression of sympathy.
