Obituary of Helen Arlene Kushner
KUSHNER, Helen Arlene (Turpin) – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Helen Kushner (nee Turpin) announces her passing. Age 91, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully in Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg, on September 21, 2020. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Born in Halifax on October 10, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Leone (Lahey) Turpin.
Helen is survived by sons, Francis and Michael; daughters, Susanna (Jim) Miller; Wanda (Brian); grandchildren, Kimberlee, Tonya, Melissa, Jake and Michael; several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; brother, Percy; sisters, Joyce, Doris, Kathleen, Noreen; son-in-law, Blaine “Alfie” Newman.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A private family graveside committal will be held at a later date at Dartmouth Common Cemetery. Special thank you to the staff at Harbour View Haven for the outstanding care they provided Helen.
