Helen’s Obituary
PENNEY, Helen Augusta- South Side, It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Augusta Penney announces her passing, on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born October 8, 1941 she was a daughter of the late Victor and Amelia (Penney) Nickerson. Helen enjoyed going to the Cape, quilting, and spending time with her cat, Liberty “Boney”. She was a faithful member of the Independent Baptist Church. Helen is survived by her daughter, Joyce Smith (Jackie); grandchildren, Amelia Smith (Gary) and Ronald Smith (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Paris and Ryder; brother, Robie Nickerson; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, Vernon Penney. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, from 2-4 pm for public and 7-9 pm for family only at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Barrington. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m., at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, NS with Pastor Paul Lavender officiating. Interment in White Lily Cemetery. Donations can be made to the White Lily Cemetery or any charity of choice.
