Jamieson (Wilson), Heather Jean “Nan”- It is with great sadness that we announce the graceful passing of Heather Jean Jamieson, 72, of Brookfield, on Sunday, April 12th 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro after a battle with cancer. Born in Halifax to J.B. and Natalie (Cox) Wilson, she was the youngest of three daughters.
After a 39-year career helping countless clients, she retired and spent her time at Shortts Lake with her family and friends. She was a dedicated volunteer for Brookfield’s Terry Fox Run, Knox United Church’s thrift store “Nox Nook”, and many other church committees and events.
She is survived by her son, Ian; daughter-in-law, Erin, once known as the “teen angel”; and much-loved grandsons, Liam “Honeybunny” and Henry “Sweetpea” ; with whom she was fortunate to spend the last three months living with; her sister, Eleanor “Yan”; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great- nephews; and her very special friends, JoAnn, Peggy, Nathalie and Anitra, who will miss her dearly. Heather held a special place in her heart for her family and extended family and loved each of them very dearly. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughter, Karyn; sister, Mary- Bruce Fisher; brother-in-law, David Fisher; and niece, Katey Chisholm.
Heather was very warm and kindhearted, remaining positive in all situations and always ready with a smile or helping hand. She loved being at Little Bay Road with her family and enjoyed spending time in her hammock!
Many sincere thanks to all her Halifax and Truro physicians, nursing staff, VON nurses and palliative care team. Your dedicated, professional efforts along with all the support and guidance, was very much appreciated.
To quote one of her favourite singers, Michael Bolton, “Turn your world into one sweet dream, take your heart and make it sing. Love, love is a wonderful thing”!!
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Heather’s name to Knox United Church, Brookfield or the Terry Fox Foundation.
