In loving memory of Hazel May Jackman (Davis)
Hazel was born in Wynndel, BC on May 18, 1929 to Leslie & Jennie Davis, the youngest of 12 children. She graduated from high school in Creston and was employed shortly thereafter by the Department of Agriculture. Hazel met and married Robert (Bob) Jackman on April 7, 1950 and they moved to Nelson, BC where Bob was employed by the Department of Highways. They welcomed Robbie in 1952, Cindy in 1959 and Daniel in 1963. The family later relocated to Horseshoe Bay, Rossland and eventually returned to Creston to raise their family. Bob and Hazel’s son Daniel married Sharon in 1983 and the family welcomed granddaughter Lesley in 1984 and grandson Brandon in 1987.
Hazel was active in her community, an avid pianist, loved to garden and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and close group of “Creston Gals”.
Hazel was pre-deceased by her husband Bob in 2002, son Robbie in 1968, daughter Cindy in 1976, son Daniel in 2010 and special friend Edward Gatzke in 2016. Hazel was also pre-deceased by her parents and her 11 siblings.
Hazel is survived by her granddaughter Lesley (Nathon), of West Kelowna, grandson Brandon (Angie), of Creston, daughter in law Sharon (Lawrence), of Creston, and great grandchildren Trey, Ardyn, Bentley and step grandchildren Devrim and Seth.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday June 10, 2020 at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Creston BC.
