WEST, Haven W.
Jan 13, 1941 – Mar 21 2020
Haven was born and raised in Sudbury, Ont, moving to BC in the 1960s. A self-made man who built his independent business “Haven West Repairs” through dedication and tireless work ethic. Haven was a Master Mechanic, outdoorsman, and an avid gardener, who loved to read, fish, hunt and travel.
First and foremost, Haven was a really good father. A single father who raised three daughters with unwavering love and support. We loved our Dad dearly, he taught us all to shoot, fish and ride motorcycles, passing his love of camping and travel to us all. Dad had a great sense of humour and was as cheeky as he was clever. Dad’s laugh and smile will be missed and remembered always.
When Dad retired, he truly lived his best life. Travelling for months in his van towing his boat with his motorcycle mounted on the front. Dad’s love of family and adventures will live on in all of us.
Haven is survived by his sister Sharon Manning in Ontario; daughters Tauni (Bill), Koby (Brian) and Halie. His grandchildren of whom he was so proud; Chad, Jordan, Clint, Braedon and Delaney and great grandchildren Mickey, Nevaeh and Lukus, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
A memorial gathering will be held at a later date but please have an ‘Old Sam’ rum and coke in his honour now!
