Harold Whetstone 1928 2020

Hal lived his life true to his principles: honesty, integrity, and fairness.
He had a 25-year career as member of the RCMP (sergeant) in Vancouver, Toronto and Niagara Falls. His second career was as a legal investigator for Guild, Yule Law Firm in Vancouver.
The premature death of his first wife, Connie, in 1973, caused him to re-evaluate his life. Hal retired at age fifty and travelled with his second wife, Shirley. He spent happy later years fishing and making friends at Puntzi Lake and environs. His home for many years was Oakridge Towers in Vancouver.
His wry sense of humour remained with him even during his lengthy stay at Broadway Lodge on Granville Island.
He will be missed by his son Dan (Tina), daughter Carrie (Brian), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Hal was the last surviving child of a large Edmonton-based family.
Thank you to the hard-working staff at Broadway Lodge for caring for “Officer Hal” and for laughing along with him to make his days more joyful.
No service by request but Hal left a request that he be remembered by “perhaps an act of kindness, a friendly smile, a little laughter is a meaningful life.”

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Harold Whetstone 1928 2020..
