In
loving memory
of
Harold “Snapper” Walters.
It is with our deepest sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Harold at his residence on Monday, December 30th, 2019 at the age of 86 years.
Harold was born on September 11th, 1933 and raised in Arborfield, Saskatchewan. He moved to Sudbury at 19 years of age where he quickly secured a job with Falconbridge Mines. He was employed there for 37 years, retiring at 49 years of age.
He then enjoyed a long and healthy retirement. His greatest joy in life was his love for the Bad River area where he was considered a landmark feature. He loved nothing more than his cedar strip, hiking the islands or catching a fish for dinner. You could find him rain or shine with a berry pail, a fishing rod or a chainsaw in his hand. His love for life was contagious, his generosity enormous. His winters were spent visiting family on his way to California every year.
Being a confirmed bachelor didn’t stop him from enjoying his many great nieces and nephews and his friends’ children. He will be greatly missed by his many friends & family. We will especially miss his singing and whistling along with his ability to talk to animals and friends alike.
A memorial & celebration of his life at Bad River during this summer will be announced at a later date. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
