Harold George “Pomp” Beaton
1938-2020
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful
passing of Harold George “Pomp”
Beaton, age 81, of Springhill, NS. Pomp
passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Monday,
August 24, 2020.
Born in Springhill, NS, he was a son of the late Basil and
Doris (Carde) Beaton.
Pomp spent many years working in the woods, at Robs
Engineering, Oxford Foundry and Wentworth Lumber. He loved
to hunt and fish and spent many years living near the river where he
loved it best. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing gospel
music for his family and entertaining others in the
community. He expressed his love by teasing his loved ones
closest to him.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Devonna Beaton;
children, Billy (Wieby Rose), Davey (Margarette), Shawna (Tyler),
Patti (Todd); step children, Jamie (Valerie), Tammy, Deanna (David);
grandchildren Ma-Tyia, Dylan, James, Kyle, Megan, Kaci, Devon, Morgan,
Mackenzie, Walker; great grandson Xavier; siblings, Howdy, Joy, Joyce,
and Billy (Eleanor).
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother
Floyd “Buddy”; sister Jean; step-daughter Barbie and
grandson Keith.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of
A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St.,
Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). A graveside service will take
place in the River Philip Cemetery.
