1930-2020
Harold Albert Silver – age 90, of
Canning, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 in the Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville. Born in Starr’s Point, he was a son of
the late John and Beatrice (Smith) Silver.
Harold was a loving husband, father,
grandfather, and great grandfather. He worked as a poultry farmer with
Canada Packers. He was hard working, loved the outdoors and especially
enjoyed farming and
forestry.
Harold is survived by a daughter, Donna (Garry)
Shaffer, Canning; three sons, Stephen Silver (Susan Dunham), Canning;
Andrew (Patricia) Silver, Centreville; Allan Graves, Wolfville;
adopted son, Ray (Laurie) Fisher, Canning; sister, Beatrice Lynk,
Canning; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy
“Claudene” (Davison); daughter, Juanita Eye;
sisters, Hazel Buchannan, Bessie Hiltz, Mary Archibald and Mabel
Kitchen; brothers, William, Glendon, Everette, George and John; son in
law, Vincent Uhlman.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no
visitation, by request. A private funeral service will be held in the
White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will take place in the
Hillaton Cemetery.
Donations in memory may be made to Canadian
Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted
to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
