“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9
Hannelore Emma Schwarz nee Schollmann passed away peacefully on Saturday January 4th. It was her heart’s desire to be with her Lord in heaven and she is now at peace with Him. Hannelore was the devoted wife of the late Walter Schwarz, most loving and caring mother of Susanne Faulkner and Barbara Mitchell (Mark Mitchell), precious Oma to Emily Hunter (nee Faulkner, Joshua Hunter), Elisabeth Faulkner (Holden Collins), Catherine Faulkner, and Lisa Faulkner, and great-Oma to Eliyah and Judah Hunter (Emily and Joshua). She was loved and will be missed by extended family and friends in Ontario, the US, and Germany.
Hannelore was born in Stuttgart, Germany. Her experiences during her childhood in Germany greatly influenced the strong woman of faith, honesty and integrity she became. Hannelore immigrated to Canada, following her husband, in the early 1950s, and built a life and legacy in Canada that would extend to, inspire, and influence her family and friends. As a mother, her life was dedicated to raising her two daughters with unconditional love, sacrifice, and wisdom through God’s word. She carried on this legacy to her four granddaughters whose love and respect for her is a legacy in and of its own.
Hannelore’s love for the Lord was unwavering through times of great suffering and great blessing. Her life was marked by holiness in Christ without compromise. Hannelore’s hope was not in this world. She knew there was a greater purpose to this life and demonstrated that in the way she shared Jesus with her family and friends. Most of all, Hannelore knew that she was saved not by her own good works or effort but through the death and resurrection of her beloved Saviour Jesus Christ. Hannelore rested in the truth that it is only by grace she is saved and this was her hope for spending eternity with her Maker.
In recent years, as Hannelore’s health and mobility declined, she moved into Shalom Manor and Gardens Long Term Care Facility in Grimbsy. As she waited there for the Lord to take her home, she received dignified care and love. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff on the Terraceview floor for taking such good care of our dear mother and grandmother. Finding this nursing home was indeed a gift from God. In lieu of flowers a donation to either Shalom Manor (shalommanor.ca) nursing home or Crossroads Ministry (www.crossroads.ca) would be appreciated.
