Hanley – Bernard Scott, age 57, of Mersey Point, Queens County, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at home.
Born in Mersey Point, he was a son of the late Everett and Irene (Whynot) Hanley.
Bernard grew up in the heavy equipment business, having worked as an operator since he was a teenager. He also grew up around horses and had a special place in his heart for them. Above all else, he was most passionate about his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.
Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Dawn (Greek); daughters, Lacey (Joey) Herman, of Italy Cross, Katie (Michael) Whynot, of Mersey Point, Becky (Clarence) Selig, of Port Medway; son, Justin (Caley Deveau), of Charleston; grandchildren, Chloe, Ava, Mya, Alexa, Leah, Bentley and Piper; brothers, Theodore (Cindy), of Brooklyn, Ronald (Heather), of Alberta, Gerald (Diane), Jordan (Karen), both of Milton and Gregory (Linda), of Mersey Point.
He was predeceased by his step mother, Alice.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. At Bernard’s request, there will be no funeral service. No flowers by request.
