WARD, Hinson “Ralph” ~ age 84 of Kingston, NS passed away peacefully with his loving wife and step-daughter at his side on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Curryville, NB, he was a son of the late Stanley and Helen (Milton) Ward. Ralph was a retired RCAF Master Warrant Officer after serving for 33 years. During his career he was stationed in Baden-Baden, Germany; Summerside, PEI; Cold Lake, AB and Greenwood, NS. After his retirement, he worked at Michelin in Waterville for 2 ½ years. Ralph enjoyed woodworking; building and flying radio controlled aircraft and deer hunting. He was an avid reader and enjoyed fiction and non-fiction books, especially local history and reference books. He was a very intelligent and proud man and a great friend to all. Ralph will be deeply missed by his wife, Ann (MacAloney); daughters, Susan Ward and Lynda Ward, both of Moncton, NB; step daughters, Cora Cole, Lumby, BC and Roseann “Rose” (Max) Gould, lovingly known as “The Kid”, Aylesford; son, Joseph (Sheelean) Cole, Lake Echo, Dartmouth; brother, Gerald (Joanne) Ward, Riverview, NB; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Ralph’s beloved “furry grandchild”, Sammi, who knew him as “Papi”, will especially miss him. Besides his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his sisters, Shirley and Norma; and his brothers, Raymond, William, James and Stanley. In keeping with Ralph’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place in New Brunswick at a later date. The family would like to give special thanks to Jennifer Lawton, NP; Dr. Kevin McGuire; the Mid-Valley Palliative Care team; the VON Annapolis Valley Branch; Valley Home Care and all the doctors at both Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville and Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton for all the care and kindness given to our “big guy”.
