Gregory Toby Bouma Monday December 7th 2020

It is with the heaviest of hearts our family shares with you the passing of Gregory Bouma or as many knew him Toby or even Pops on Dec 7th 2020 at the age of 72.
He leaves to cherish many memories, his wife of more than 52 years Linda, his son Wayne & daughter Donna and a special little dog named Daisy.
Many family gatherings were shared with sister in law Shirley and Joe Peary, sister in law Karen Wasko, niece Tara and Jeff and their children Austin and Kenzie & nephew Ryan and Laura.
Sister in law Diane & Bob, niece Brook & Lyndon and their son Finn.
He also enjoyed the special visits from his cousin Penny Burns (Pat) from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He was dubbed Pops by his #2 son Kevin Jackson, who he shared many memories with.
Toby was predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary, brother Ron, mother and father in law Mary and John and brother in law Allan.
Toby grew up in the Morse Place area where his grandfather had years early ran Bouma’s Dairy.
He would tell us many stories of things they did growing up including the parties in his parents basement which included live bands. His love of cars early in life lead him to be part of the Guardians car club.
At home the garage became a meeting place for family and friends as many hours were spent working on cars and this is where he would pass his love of them onto Wayne.
He worked for Continental Can later named Crown Cork and Seal which he would retire from in 2000 due to health reasons.
He went on to having Tob’s Collectable’s and going to swap meets and toy shows.
Later on to being a part owner with his son Wayne with Pops and Son’s scrap and salvage.
When things started to get more challenging for him he stepped away from the business.
Tob always loved looking for a deal and would often be found Saturday mornings grabbing a breakfast burrito at McDonalds and checking out the local garage sales.
Garage sales were also a yearly event for us where more good times and memories were made with family and friends. It was a weekend that we all looked forward to as there never was a dull moment.
More recently he took pride in his raised garden beds. Beds that he built himself and loved to share whatever he grew.
This was a very trying time with all the restrictions and limitations put on what we could do. But are thankful for the friends and family that we did manage to make arrangement to visit with when we could.
Due to Tob’s wishes and the pandemic there will be no service.
We are thankful for some of the Cancer Care doctors and nurses that we have met over the years and some very compassionate Palliative care nurses that were a phone call away 24/7.
Toby was dedicated to his family and always put us first and would do anything for anyone.
You were a husband, a father a best friend a protector. You were our world.
All of our love until we see you again.
