Obituary
Gregory Sigmunder Whitford, age 40, of Calgary Alberta, died suddenly on June 12th, 2020. His passing was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.
Greg was born on April 15th, 1980, in Arborg, Manitoba to Wanda Eastman but had lived in Calgary with his mother and adopted father, Timothy Whitford, since an early age. In his youth he spent time up north with his uncle Richard Eastman, before moving back to Calgary as a young man. He is survived by his mother, father, sister, Caprice Whitford, her fiancé Paul Weaver and their daughter, Una Claire Whitford-Weaver.
He worked most of his adult life on the rigs, as well as doing various building, repair and fitting work. He was an incredibly handy guy and someone who liked to keep busy.
Anyone who knew Greg, knew that he was charismatic, brilliantly witty and full of charm. He had the most infectious smile and warm personality. He made friends anywhere we went. Greg’s family and friends will miss him dearly.
Contributions in memory of Gregory Sigmunder Whitford can be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation. There will be a funeral service held on June 26th, 2020, at 1:00pm at the Snodgrass Funeral Home in High River.
