Gregory Greg DeMings Service 2020

Obituary of Gregory “Greg” DeMings Funeral Service
Gregory Darrell DeMings, age 67, of Mt. Thom formerly of Green Hill, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
Greg was the son of the late Vernon and Esther DeMings.
Everyone who knew Greg knows that he was a hard worker. Greg was a member of the Alma Fire Department in his youth, educated as a Civil Engineer, and spent almost 40 years with R.A. Douglas Construction, where he worked as a General Superintendent. Although his work took him throughout the Atlantic Provinces, his heart was always in Pictou County. No matter how busy he was, he always made time for family. He loved to attend his sons sporting events, a tradition he carried on for his grandchildren. Whether it was a basketball game or a dance recital, Greg loved being front and center and was never shy about being the loudest in the crowd. Greg was a man of few words. He was a kind, gentle soul who would do anything for anybody but never once looked for anything in return. He was a true gentleman who will be missed by everyone who loved him.
Greg is survived by his wife Cathy (Trainor); sons Dana (Sandy), New Glasgow and Dale (Karen), Halifax; step-daughter Lindsay, Stellarton and step-son Craig, Halifax; grandchildren Quinn, Kieran, Sydney, and Ashley; sister Debi Baird (Alex MacDonald), Limerock Road; nieces Jackie (Allen & Hailey) and Jennifer (Andrew) and nephew Darryl (Justine).
A PUBLIC FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD 11 O’CLOCK SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, AT HEATHERDALE MEMORIAL GARDENS WITH REV. JIM WEBBER-COOK OFFICIATING. PLEASE BRING A LAWN CHAIR IF ABLE AND MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
Treasured in our hearts you’ll stay, until we meet again someday. Until then, “I hope you Dance”
