Graham B. George est décédé, le 10 août 2020, à l’âge de 93 ans au Foyer de Sutton.
Fils de Leon et Laura George, Graham a grandi à Mansonville. Il a fréquenté le Collège Stanstead et après avoir obtenu son diplôme, il a enseigné pendant trois ans. En 1949, il a commencé sa carrière avec le pipeline de Montréal à Highwater, avant d’être transféré à Montréal. Il a rencontré et épousé Ethel Banfill, une institutrice de North Hatley.
Graham a eu quatre filles: Linda (Ian Nielsen-Jones), Debra (Stuart Ladd), Nancy (Wayne Carew) et Judy (Steve Lawson), grand-père de huit petits-enfants: Chris, Alison, Eric, Kelly, Andrew, Michael, Amy et Erica et arrière-grand-père de dix arrière-petits-enfants: Chris, Audrey, Shamus, Silas, Alec, Alice, Sam, Teddy, Charlie et Ellie.
Il était le frère de Lucille (Derick) et de Kay, tous deux d’Ottawa, et fut prédécédé par son frère, Grant.
Après 38 ans à travailler pour le pipeline de Montréal, Graham & Ethel ont pris leurs retraites à Tibbits Hill, Knowlton. Graham aimait les chèvres, les poulets, les canards, les tracteurs et les grands jardins. En plus d’être un jardinier, un menuisier et un horloger, Graham pouvait réparer presque tout.
Après la mort d’Ethel, Graham a épousé June Robinson en 1995. Ils ont passé de nombreux hivers en Floride avec leurs caniches et ont passé leurs dernières années ensemble à Knowlton House.
Dons commémoratifs au Centre de bien-être des bénévoles de la ville de Lac Brome, 270 rue Victoria, Knowlton, QC J0E 1V0 à la mémoire de Graham qui s’est impliqué avec Ethel dans les premières années du groupe seraient appréciés.
Une cérémonie aura lieu au Cimetière Protestant de Mansonville à une date ultérieure au printemps prochain. Les arrangements ont été confiés au salon funéraire

Graham B. George passed away on August 10, 2020, at age 93 at the Foyer in Sutton.
Son of Leon and Laura George, Graham grew up in Mansonville. He attended Stanstead College and after graduation taught school for three years. In 1949, he started his career with the Montreal Pipeline in Highwater, later transferring to Montreal. He met and married Ethel Banfill, a schoolteacher from North Hatley.
Graham had four daughters: Linda (Ian Nielsen-Jones), Debra (Stuart Ladd), Nancy (Wayne Carew) and Judy (Steve Lawson), and was a grandfather of eight: Chris, Alison, Eric, Kelly, Andrew, Michael, Amy, and Erica, and great-grandfather of ten: Chris, Audrey, Shamus, Silas, Alec, Alice, Sam, Teddy, Charlie, and Ellie.
He was brother to Lucille (Derick) and Kay, both of Ottawa, and was predeceased by his brother, Grant.
After 38 years with the Montreal Pipeline, Graham & Ethel retired to Tibbits Hill, Knowlton, where he enjoyed goats, chickens, ducks, tractors, and a large garden. In addition to being a gardener, carpenter, and clockmaker, Graham could fix almost anything.
After Ethel’s death, Graham married June Robinson in 1995. They enjoyed many winters in Florida with their poodles, and spent their last years together at Knowlton House.
Memorial donations to the Town of Brome Lake Wellness Volunteer Centre, 270 Rue Victoria, Knowlton, QC J0E 1V0 in memory of Graham who was involved along with Ethel in the group’s beginning years would be appreciated.
A graveside service will be held at Mansonville Protestant Cemetery in Mansonville at a later date next spring. Arrangement entrusted to the
